This week we asked our young scientists to decide if something was living or nonliving. We had them observe a series of objects and then sort them into two groups. One group was for objects they thought were living and one group for nonliving. From there we had students share thoughts about 'what made something living?' They said, 'because it has a face and it moves' or 'I know it's not living because it doesn't eat food.'
